Raghuram Rajan sat down for a lengthy interview with James Crabtree of the Financial Times, in which he talked about India's future, his start as head of the Reserve Bank of India and his childhood, among other topics. "Central bankers have had enormous responsibilities thrust on them to compensate, essentially, for the failings of the political system. And my worry is we don’t have sufficient tools to do that, but we’re not willing to say it," he says.
